We had class today held in an old Scottish monastery. It's been renovated for classrooms and conference rooms. They do rent out rooms for the night, so there are random beds behind curtains. We learned about the Enlightenment this morning and how it relates to Mozart in general. Very interesting! The professor packed a semester's worth of information into an hour and a half! A couple of us went on a walk around the old city just to get our bearings. Since everything is mostly in a circle, you can get turned around pretty easily, but we're feeling more confident! The public transportation is great! You can buy a weeks pass and it's good for unlimited rides on the tram (like San Francisco) the subway, and buses. Here are few pictures from today. Most of these things I'm going to return to, but we just walked by to get a feel for the city.

ReplyDeleteThat food looks funky and delicious! Those are some scary statues at the Imperial Palace! Are those based on myths? And a Starbucks right downtown... Just in case you get a little homesick...
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous pictures Jill!
ReplyDeleteI like to think of those horses leaning out the little window and going "ey senorita! que pasa?"
