Welcome to Frankfurt!

When leaving Boston, took a while to taxi and take off, left about a half hour later than expected. I slept for about an hour, but it wasn’t too comfortable…enough to sit, but not to sleep. They did have tvs on the back of each chair. I watched two movies…Tangled and Rango. I guess I was in the mood for cartoons! Landed in Frankfurt on time. Looking down on Germany is similar to what Ireland looked like. Small groupings of houses in town and farm land all around until you get into the bigger cities. I had to make a connecting flight to a gate about a mile away. It’s funny, when flying west, you’re leaving the sun behind, only to find it again on another continent. Even though it’s 6:45am here, the airport is still busy. We got about half way to the next set of gates when we had to get our passports stamped. That took about a half hour waiting in line. Luckily my flight isn’t until 8:15, so I wasn’t worried. I found my gate…felt good to walk a bit after sitting in economy class for 7 hours! I changed my money in Boston before my flight. It was the best deal. If you change so much money, there are no fees, including when you change it back into dollars in Boston! The first thing I bought with my Euros was…of course coffee, and water! There is a little snack stand right near my gate. I didn’t get my coffee cup right away, and to try not to feel silly, I asked where it was…maybe I’m just too tired to see it? She said it will be right up…it was brewing. Oh! The coffee is brewed on the spot.I had an American-instant-Dunkin’ Donuts-moment… haha
